I finally did it! I posted my first items for sale in my etsy shop. This took a ton more time than I ever imagined it would.
For starters, I didn't expect to be such a terrible employee for myself. When working for other companies I always showed up early for my shift, stayed late when I had to, and generally worked hard. As soon as I started working for myself I was the worst employee ever, I asked for all these breaks, giving myself the afternoon off to nap and read and goof around. Generally productivity was low.
Eventually I got into the swing of things. I turned out a few designs to get the shop started, printed them, redeveloped a couple, and got into a better groove. (Although I must say there's still some room for improvement on the productivity front.)
My goals are to add a new design to the shop every week. I'd also like to branch out and try my hand at screen printing some of my design ideas, although the set up costs for screen printing are a bit steeper than the block printing.
In the mean time I have some descriptions to write and items to post in my shop. Wish me luck!
